VeriFone’s iPhone Card Payment System To Be Sold in Apple Stores

Albeit Square's credit card reader has garnered some attention, Verifone's competing credit card reader may be given the green light by Apple itself, as Apple has set aside space for it on its retail store shelves. Per The Unofficial Apple Weblog, Verifone will be selling its PAYware Mobile units from Apple Store locations come the end of March.

For users adopting the PAYware service, there's both an activation fee as well as a monthly fee on top of a per-payment charge, the reader itself taking up the iPhone's dock port.
