Heading to Palm Springs for Modernism Week? If you plan on staying in the desert oasis through the weekend, be sure to stop by the A+D Museum and Blu Homes‘ fundraising event at the home of Tim Disney (yes, that Disney) this Saturday for afternoon cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The celebration will support the A+D Museum’s new exhibit Never Built: Los Angeles, a rare compendium of unbuilt works from the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright and Frank Gehry. The afternoon will also host a panel discussion with Never Built curators Sam Lubell and Greg Golding and moderator Karl Daubmann of Blu Homes. For more info on the event, or to purchase tickets, please visit the A+D website.

Los Angeles is hoping to rid its reputation of grid-locked traffic by launching the country’s second largest bike share next spring. Come April, Bike Nation will transform the car-laden city into a green transportation hub with a bike share program that will bring 4,000 bikes, complete with solar-powered bike stations, to downtown LA. The $16 million project will provide bikes to the public for $6 a day, or $75 for a full year.
