Here's a little iPad magic for your Memorial Day afternoon -- turns out the iPad really is a "magical" device. I'm not sure what app is being used here, but I think it's a proprietary one, and probably not something you could use yourself (unless you know how to do some of the great slight-of-hand stuff that this guys is doing).
But the iPhone can definitely be used for magic, as we've seen before, even if you're not a highly trained magician. But even though this guy is a little late some times (his brain unfortunately falls out of his head, since he misses the timing just a little bit), he pulls off this series of tricks quite well.
Junior Tan has a cool idea about how to use the iPhone differently. He has used the MakerBot, 3D object printing technology, to make this case. It turns the iPhone like a gun. Point the iGun to your head and start to talk. Don’t worry. It won’t fire any bullets. It’s completely safe.
Did you think we'd leave you alone on Memorial Day? No way! Dealzmodo is back with some great deals just for today. Find them all and save! Now go back to your barbecue and enjoy the rest of the day. More »
Here in the US, today is the day we put aside to remember lost soldiers. It's a day to give thanks to the sacrifice of others, a day to remember the splendor of America and those who died protecting it. It's a day to be with family and remember those who cannot. Here at iPhone Alley, we want to say thank you to the families of lost soldiers, their sacrifice has given us the freedom to be with our families on this day. There's no app for that.
Below are the number of people we have lost from recent wars. These are the men and women we honor today.
We know that this next bit of information will most likely shock and upset you, but it has to be told: the current Engadget editor doesn't own an iPod dock. In fact, he doesn't even own an alarm clock. Of course, it would be nice to listen to Pandora or the BBC's Desert Island Disks without switching on the computer during those rare times when we weren't working -- but it was never a priority. Not a priority, that is, until we laid eyes on that cute Alarm Clock app (or, at least, a cardboard simulation thereof) at CES. Now that we have had the iLuv App Station in our hot little hands (and on our bedside table) for a week, the jury is in. Is iLuv's App Station all that it's cracked up to be? Read on, dear readers, to find out.
